Narration profane et fonction didactique dans le Kitāb Aḫbār al-aḏkiyā’ d’Ibn al-Ǧawzī

Ibn al-Ǧawzī (d. 1201) is an author known for his moral rigour and severity, as well as his extensive bibliographic output. His works also include some adab works that include anecdotes of a facetious and sometimes licentious or obscene character. The article studies the function and value of this anecdotal material in the Kitāb al-aḏkiyāʾ  on the basis of the close relationship between narration and homiletics.
