On the Question of the Tradition in Modern Syrian Prose

A characteristic feature of Syrian literature from the earliest period of its formation is its close relation to the historic part and to the traditions. Despite this, the authors’ approach to their literary traditions has constantly changed. The article endeavours to depict this change.
