The Political Life of Rašīd Riḍā

The article provides an analysis of the life of Rašīd Riḍā. It provides an explanation for the way he managed to harmonize activity for the religion of Islam with activity for a nationalist idea. Although this duality put Riḍā in difficult dilemmas, his own life story, and the circumstances which passed over the Arab world during those years, brought him to pursue this path and to become the first Muslim pan-Arabist in modern times.
