Abstract
In Arabic terminology, the term ʾasmāʾ al-fiʿl refers to certain interjections that convey the meaning of a verb, such as nazāli (‘Go down!’), halumma (‘Come here!’), and ilayka (‘Go away!’). This article provides a comprehensive overview of the category of ʾasmāʾ al-fiʿl as described by Arab grammarians.
