La contribution marocaine à la grammaire arabe (500–1332/1106–1912) : Étude et bibliographie

Jaafar Ben el-Haj Soulami (Tetouan)

Abstract

The aim of this report is not to seek answers to one or more grammatical issues, nor does it intend to present a complete and definitive bibliography of all Arabo-Moroccan grammatical production. Rather, it seeks above all to draw researchers’ attention to a school of grammar that has been consistently neglected and to preliminarily note some of its essential characteristics. The ultimate goal is to highlight the features of a linguistic tradition that lasted eight centuries and that, in collaboration with the Andalusian school, attempted to reconcile the often conflicting results of Eastern Arab grammatical thought on the one hand and integrate grammar into classical pedagogy on the other.
