Abstract

The ethnographic and linguistic mission Dakar-Djibouti, conducted between May 10, 1931, and February 18, 1933, by the French anthropologist Marcel Griaule, is at the origin of the creation of a written and oral, visual and auditory documentation. Among the concerns of the mission members, reflecting those of Mr. Griaule himself, medicine, magic, and the field of magico-therapeutics held a notable place. It is also noteworthy to mention the significant collection of magical amulets and manuscripts. The manuscripts from the Marcel Griaule collection entered the National Library of France in 1933. In this article, two magical scrolls of this collection bearing the call numbers BnF 7337 (2) and (4) are edited and commented upon.
