Early Arabic Lexicons of Homophonic Words

Abstract
The paper deals with two related topics: (1) Reviewing early Arabic books that dealt with homophonic words each of which has more than one meaning (al-muštarak al-lafẓī); (2) Throwing light on Arab philologists’ view on the question of multiplicity of meaning.
