The Life (gädl) of Täklä Haymanot as a Source for the Study of Popular Religious Practices in Ethiopia

Abstract
In this paper, an endeavour is made to contribute to the study of the vita of Täklä Haymanot (1215–1313) as a historical source as well as a source for our knowledge of the practices of the popular religion of the time, by discussing one particular miracle of our venerable saint, described in Chapter 103 of the Däbrä Libanos version, adducing parallels and attempting a tentative explanation of it.
